Intertainment AG: New President in U.S.A. and Successful Films

Munich, May 17, 2000 - Stephen Brown is taking over Intertainment's branch office in Los Angeles as president in June. Brown will be responsible for the co-production and co-financing of all films in which Intertainment has a participation. Among these are film productions already agreed on with Franchise Pictures and Original Voices, and distribution cooperation with Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox. In addition, Brown will work on expanding relations with other U.S. studios.

Brown, until recently President of Production for Kopelson Entertainment, one of the most successful American film companies, was executive and co-producer for movies such as "The Fugitive" (Harrison Ford), "Seven" (Brad Pitt), "Outbreak" (Dustin Hoffman), "Devil's Advocate" (Al Pacino) and "Eraser" (Arnold Schwarzenegger).


"The Whole Nine Yards" also top of charts in France

The action comedy "The Whole Nine Yards" continues its success in Europe. The film, produced by Franchise Pictures and co-produced by Intertainment, which also holds the European rights, climbed to the top of the movie theater charts on its start in France and Spain. In Denmark, "The Whole Nine Yards" also reached one of the top spots. The comedy, with Bruce Willis in the star role, is one of the most successful films of the year, and was No. 1 in the charts in the U.S.A. for three weeks.


"Things You Can Tell" praised in Cannes

With the feature film "Things You Can Tell Just By Looking At Her," Intertainment opened the program section "Un Certain Regard" at the Film Festival in Cannes, harvesting enthusiastic reviews from the more than hundred journalists from around the world who attended the press conference. The European rights to the 10-million dollar production with Cameron Diaz, Glenn Close, Holly Hunter and Calista Flockhart in the main roles are held by Intertainment. The film will open in cinemas during the course of this year.

Figures for the fiscal year 1999 show growth in revenues of 91.5 percent to DEM 56.1 million for the media group, which is listed on Frankfurt's New Market. This growth was accompanied by an increase in results from ordinary business activities of approximately 130 percent to DEM 20.2 million. In the current fiscal year, Intertainment is expecting a boost in revenues to approximately DEM 290 million and results from ordinary business activities totaling more than DEM 76 million. This jump in revenue will be generated in part by the expansion of business activities throughout Europe.
